Em alguns momentos eu penso, sabe aquela banda que mereceria ter um bom contrato com uma gravadora, e o seu álbum ter uma distribuição mundial? E mesmo assim foi obrigado a lançar o seu trabalho de forma independente. É exatamente esse sentimento em ouvir o cd auto-intitulado do Walk the Sky.
Por isso o meu intuito é divulgar bandas como Walk the Sky, apoiar a música independente e de bandas que mostram paixão em sua música, sem se importarem com modismos, simplesmente tocam o som que curtem, com influências de suas bandas preferidas e que surge do coração.
Vindos dos Estados unidos, tocam um melodic rock, muito influênciados por Journey, Stryper, Touch...inclusive no cd há uma excelente versão para "Don't You Know What Love is" do Touch de Mark Mangold (Drive She Said, Mystic Healer) , só senti a falta dos teclados da versão original.
Formando atualmente por: Rob Bonstin (vocals), Rick Hunter-Martinez (guitar/vocals), Jeff Lemas (drums) e Dave Scott (bass), esse último que substitui Tom Young que participou das gravações.
O álbum tem inicio com a excelente "Castles in the Sand", o qual já mostra a grande habilidade de Rick de criar bons riffs de guitarra e o incrivel vocal de Rob, criando o clima ideal para um som melódico e bem construido, essa música foi um grande inicio para o que vem depois.
A segunda faixa "Lay it on the Line" a banda continua o bom nível iniciado na primeira faixa, e nos motra um bom refrão/backings vocals e solos de guitarra de muito bom gosto.
A 3ª música é o cover do Touch, e é um bom cover como foi dito a cima, passando para a próxima, temos em "Snake Eyes" mais uma boa faixa, mas a próxima é ainda melhor "Always Remember", me fez lembrar do Stryper, aliás vejo muitas influências deles ao decorrer do álbum, principalmente nos vocais.
"Face to Face" inicia-se com riffs ao estilo "old -school", anos 80 total! Ouça também a bela balada "Touched by You" e mais uma anos 80 "Heart of Stone". O álbum encerra com a excelente e umas das melhores do cd "Love Comes Down", rápida, melódica e que mostra todo virtuosismo dos membros.

In some moments I ask myself about those bands who deserved to have a good contract with a label so their albums would have a world wide distribution and even so they are imposed to release it in an independent way. This is exactly what you'll be thinking after listening to this self-title album from the band Walk the Sky.
that's why my purpose is to divulge bands like Walk the Sky, to support the independent music from bands who show passion for the music, without bothering with colloquialism, coming from the USA they simply play what they feel the will to play, melodic rock, influenced by their favorite bands, like Journey, Stryper, Touch... (inclusive there's an excellet Mark Mangold (Drive She Said, Mystic Healer) from Touch version to "Don't You Know What Love Is" that I only missed the keyboards from othe original one) and that comes from the heart.
Actually formed by: Rob Bonstin (vocals), Rick Hunter-Martinez (guitar/vocals), Jeff Lemas (drums) and Dave Scott (bass), this last one substitutes Tom Young wich joined them during the recordings.
The album opens with the excellent track "Castles in the Sand", which shows Rick's skills to create good guitar riffs and the incredible vocal by Rob, creating the perfect ambient for a melodic and well structured sound, this song is a breat preview to what comes next.
In the second track "Lay it on the Line" the band goes on keeping a good level started by the first track, and shows us a good refrain/backings vocals and guitar solos.
The third one is a nice Touch's cover, going to the next one, "Snake Eyes" another good track, but the following one is stil better, "Always Remember", that remind me of Stryper, by the way I notice many of their influences during the whole album, mainly in the vocals.
"Face to Face" begins with some old-school good taste riffs style, totally 80s! Listen to the beautiful ballad "Touched by You" too and another 80s alike one "Heart of Stone".
The album concludes with the excellent and the best track of the album "Love Comes Down", fast, melodic, and that shows all its viruosity of the group.
