A banda Powerworld foi formada em 2005 pelo baixista Ilker Ersin(Freedom Call), também contando com o talento de Barish Kepic(ex-Jaded Heart), a banda é completada por Steffen Brunner(ex-Backbone), Nils Neumann(ex-Freedom Call) e Jurgen Lucas(At Vance).
O estilo da banda é metal melódico com algumas passagens progressivas, mas não foge muito do metal melódico de raiz, contando com uma produção perfeita e vocais típicos do estilo e artwork característico.
Contanto com dois membros do Freedom Call é de se supor que o som é similar ao Freedom Call, sim, lembra e muito, não é a toa que Ilker Ersin compôs praticamente todo o álbum e também o produziu. O que diferencia seria as passagens meio prog e inclusive mais hard rock como em "I Died in your Arms", muito boa por sinal.
Há a tipica introdução, seguida de uma música que começa veloz e fica mais cadenciada em "Creatures" voltando a ficar veloz em seu refrão e já mostra a proposta da banda de soar melódica.
A "Lake of Eternity" você perceberá muito coisa de Freedom Call nela, com uns backing vocals bem interessantes, e claro não poderia faltar o refrão para sair cantando na primeira audição.
Em "Signs in the Sand" é mais progressiva, seguida da mais power metal "I Reach the Light", com alguns momentos de mais peso muito bem vindos.
A já comentada "I Died in your Arms" é a minha preferida do álbum, há também outras músicas legais, como "Don't Walk on Broken Glass" e "Our Melody".
É um bom álbum, que apenas não traz nada de novo ao estilo, mas para quem é fã do estilo é uma boa aquisição, especialmente para quem curte Freedom Call.

Powerworld was formed in 2005 by the bassist Ilker Ersin(ex-Freedom Call), also counting on the talent of Barish Kepic(ex-Jaded Heart), the band is completed by Steffen Brunner(ex-Backbone), Nils Neumann(ex-Freedom Call) and Jurgen Lucas(At Vance). The genre here is the melodic metal, with some progressive passages, but it didn’t sneak out of the melodic metal roots, with a perfect production and typical vocals and a distinguishing artwork. With 2 ex-Freedom Call members, it’s supposed the sound is similar to Freedom Call’s, and yes, it reminds a lot, it’s not worthless to say Ilker Ersin wrote basically the whole album and also produced it, what distinguish it from the other works is exactly the prog passages, inclusive much more hard rock as in "I Died in your Arms", very cool one.
There’s a typical introduction, followed by a song that begins fast and then becomes cadenced in "Creatures", and becoming fast again in the refrain, and already shows the proposal of sounding melodic.
"Lake of Eternity" will make you notice a lot of Freedom Call in it, with some interesting vocals, and of course, it couldn’t miss a refrain to sing since the first audition. In "Signs in the Sand" is a more progressive one, followed by the power metal one "I Reach the Light", with some heavier welcome elements. The already commented"I Died in your Arms" is my favorite one, there are another cool ones like "Don't Walk on Broken Glass" and "Our Melody". It’s a good álbum, the point is that it doesn’t bring anything new to the genre, but for who are a fan of it, especially the Freedom Call ones, yet a good acquisition .
