Fraze Gang - 2

Segundo álbum dos ex-membros do Brighton Rock, Steve Skreebs e Greg Fraser, além do baterista Phil Epp, agora temos um segundo guitarrista na banda chamado Derek Macgowan, que parece ter dado um tempero a mais neste álbum, soando bem mais empolgante que o debut.
O álbum já tem início com uma paulada com "Saint or Sinner", você lembrará muito do Dokken, e até Judas Priest, ouça o refrão e tente não imaginar Rob Halford cantando.
A seguinte "In your Face" já é bastante diferente da primeira, soando meio diferente digamos assim, mas é uma boa música.
Outra faixa pesada e empolgante é a excelente "Tough Enough" essa naquele espirito Ratt, com grandes riffs de guitarra, essa totalmente anos 80.
Temos dois covers aqui, a "I Just Want To Make Love To You" do Willie Dixon e "Don't Call Us We'll Call You" do SugarLoaf.
A balada acústica "This is It" é bem legal, vai na linha de um Mr. Big ou Tesla, e merece ser ouvida.
Sem dúvida esse novo álbum a banda parece ter conseguido se superar, espero que eles não demorem para nos mostrar mais bons trabalhos como esse.

Fraze Gang - Fraze Gang

A banda de modern melodic rock Fraze Gang, formada por 2 membros da lendária banda canadense Brighton Rock, Greg Fraser(Guitarra e vocais) e Stevie Skreebs(baixo e backing vocals) e ainda contado com Phill Epp na bateria e backing vocals.
O álbum foi lançado originalmente de forma independente em 2006, agora a banda relança aquele álbum remasterizado, com nova arte, e contando com uma faixa a mais "Jackhammer" essa mixada por Beau Hill, conhecido produtor de bandas como Warrant, Ratt e Europe.
Vamos falar sobre o álbum em si, e tenho que dizer que foi ótimo a inclusão da faixa "Jackhammer", excelente trabalho de guitarra de Greg Fraser, assim como os seus vocais, uma mistura dos velhos tempos com algo atual.
O sentimento oitentista domina a faixa "Blow me Away", bateria pulsante, riffs e solos bem colocados, e também o vocal com atitude certa.
Como a maioria dos álbums do estilo, temos uma power balada muito bonita "Savior", se tivesse sido lançada nos anos 80, com certeza estaria bem colocada nos charts, essa canção realmente é quente, e fiquei amarrado nela.
Temos a moderna "Sugar Daddy", essa não figura entre as minhas favoritas, passo adiante com a " Rainbow Eyes", mais uma power balada com partes acústicas e lindas harmonias polidas de guitarra.
O rock n' roll volta com tudo em "Paradise" e também na "High Life", nesta última com alguns efeitos de eco ficaram muito legais e me surpreendeu, imagino que essa música ficaria muito legal ao vivo. "I Stand Alone" começa acústica e com sons de movimento de água, uma música mais lenta que mistura partes acusticas com guitarras de rock, e ainda no seu final nos apresenta um solo curto, mas muito bem encaixado.
Ainda álbum nos reserva alguns bons momentos, como a "Stargazer", outra faixa mais oitenstista, um refrão que te pega e lindas guitarras, mais uma para o hall das melhores. Apesar do titulo "Roll With the Punches", não se trata de uma canção mais roqueira, é mais uma power balada, e novamente a banda não me decepcionou.
Qual seria a melhor forma de terminar o álbum? Com adição de outro grande momento do álbum em "Hot Rod", com um inicio com um barulho de uma platéia ao-vivo, que já dá um clima de festa, o sentimento que você sentirá ao ouvi-la.
Para quem é fã de Brighton Rock, ele pode soar diferente, mas vão se interessar pela presença dos membros da banda, e claro pela qualidade apresentada e para quem não conhece ambas as bandas, corra atrás do seu, e claro do Brighton Rock também. Eu espero poder ver a volta do Brighton Rock com esse lançamento.

The modern melodic rock band Fraze Gang, formed by 2 members from the legendary canadian band Brighton Rock, Greg Fraser(Guitar and vocals) and Stevie Skreebs(bass and backing vocals) and also counting on Phill Epp in the drums and backing vocals.
The album was originally released in a indie way in 2006, now they release that album remasterized, with new art, and with a bonus track called "Jackhammer", this one mixed by Beau Hill, known producer of bands such as Warrant, Ratt and Europe.
Let's talk about the album itself, I have to say that was a great ideia the inclusion of "Jackhammer" as a bonus track, excellent guitar work courtesy of Greg Fraser, and so his vocals, a mixture of when the old school meets something contemporary.
The 80s kind of feeling rules in the track "Blow me Away", pusling drums, riffs and solos well put, and also vocal with the right attitude.
Like the most part of the albums from this style, there's a very beautiful power ballad "Savior", if it had been released drint the 80s, certainly it would be achieved a good position in the charts, this song is really hot, I got stuck on it.
There's the modern "Sugar Daddy", it donesn't figure as one of my favorites, passing on with " Rainbow Eyes", another power ballad with some acoustic pieces and beautiful polished guitar harmonies.
Then the rock n' roll returns with everything in "Paradise" and also "High Life", this last onee with some cool echoes effects that surprised, I imagine this song would be nice played live. "I Stand Alone" starts in an acoustic way with water movements sounds, a slower song that mix acoustic and rock guitars, and right in the end presents a short solo, but much more interlocked.
The album still reservers some good moments, as "Stargazer", another 80s kind of track, a refrain that catchs you and beautiful guitars, another on to the hall of the best. Despite the tiltle "Roll With the Punches", it doesn't deal with a more rocker song, another power ballad, and again this band didnt' let me down.
What would it be the best way to finish the album? Just with the addition of another great momento of the album: "Hot Rod", starting with a noisy live audience, wich gives the party feeling, that's how you'll feel it when you first listen to it.
For those who are Brighton Rock fans, it mays sound a little different, but you'll get interested by the presence of the members themselves, and of course, for the quality presented and for those who don't know both of bands, go for your copy, and a Brighton Rock too. I hope I could see the return of Brighton Rock with this release.
