A Itália nos últimos tempos, anda nos apresentando bandas de qualidade em vários estilos, nos anos 90, muitas bandas de metal melódico, agora com o fortalecimento da cena hard rock, muitas boas bandas tem surgido daquele país, mostrando talvez uma certa resposta a cena sueca.
No últimos tempos podemos ver excelentes bandas do estilo da Itália, e temos mais uma, Houston. Formada por Nice J. Ryan - Vocals, Phil - Guitars, Gaby Faxintown - Bass e John L. S. - Drums, a banda toca um grudento e agradável hard rock, algumas vezes tendendo um pouco para o lado mais comercial, mas mantendo as melodias grudentas e de fácil assimilação.
A banda foi formada em 2006, e chega até impressionar a qualidade do trabalho dos caras, tanto nas composições, quanto na produção, tudo 100% profissional, e também contando com uma boa produção gráfica do álbum.
Na minha humilde opinião, esse debut do Houston, juntamente com o debut da banda Hungryheart, é umas das bandas mais agradáveis que ouvi nos últimos tempos, mostrando talento prematuramente, com pouco tempo de formação da banda.
Falando sobre as músicas contidas em "Fast in Elegance", impossivel não se emocionar com algumas delas, como a faixa que inicia o cd, "When the Cowboy Says", muito legal, especialmente em seu refrão. Mas claro ainda temos outras, como a seguinte "Confidence", um dos grandes destaques é sem dúvida "Another Day", com um refrão que gruda em seu cérebro, contando com backing vocals bem colocados.
O álbum também conta com faixas mais pesadas, como na "Six Hours of Sex in Caldutta", indo para um lado mais Glam/slease rock nesta faixa, outra que segue esse estilo é a "Rockin' Roll Fist". O álbum também apresenta baladas emotivas, como "Night Fragile", e o melhor que é uma faixa da consegue sair da mesmice tratando-se de baladas, mas temos a mais bela de todas em "Forever in my Life", com grande harmonia nos vocais e backing vocals, realmente muito bonita.
E ainda temos a divertida "Gordon Tonic", sem dúvida essa banda me surpreendeu, e acredito que ela tenha um grande futuro, e que podemos ainda ouvir muito falar da banda Houston!

Lately Italy has shown us some quality bands of many varied genres all through the years, many melodic metal bands in the 90s, and now with the strenghtening of the hard rock scene, many excellent bands are emerging from that country, maybe as an answer to the Swedish scene, bands like Houston. Formed in 2006 by Nice J. Ryan - Vocals, Phil - Guitars, Gaby Faxintown - Bass and John L. S. - Drums, they impress with their work quality, as in the compositions as in the production, everything 100% professional, with a good album artowork, and they play that sticky and pleasant hard rock, sometimes pending to the commercial side, but keeping the easy absortion of their sticky melodies. My humble opinion is that this debut, together with Hungryheart's, is one of the pleasant bands that I ever listened to, showing their premature talent due to the little time they've been formed.
Now talking of the songs of "Fast in Elegance", it's impossible not to be touched with some, the track that opens the album "When the Cowboy Says", very cool, especially the refrain. But sure we have many others, as the following "Confidence", one of the highlights and is out of question is "Another Day", with a refrain that stuck on your brain, with well put backing vocals.
The album also owns some heavy tracks, as "Six Hours of Sex in Caldutta", going to a Glam/slease rock side, another one which it's in the same way is "Rockin' Roll Fist". The album presents some emotive ballads, like "Night Fragile", and the best part is that is a ballad that leaves the clichés, when it comes to ballads, but the beautiful one is "Forever in my Life", with great vocals and backing vocals harmony, really it's very pretty. And we still have the funny "Gordon Tonic", no doubts these guys have impressed me, and I believe they have a great future, we will hear much more about Houston!
