A banda One-Eyes Doll de Austin Texas, banda de 2 membros, formada pela Kimberly Freeman (guitarist/singer) e PJ Evans(drummer/bassist), tocam um estilo mais teatral de rock, estilos variados dos anos 70, 80 e 90, com alguns experimentalismos.
Kimberly mostra bons riffs, em alguns momentos se aproximam do heavy metal, se a banda não tivesse os experimentalismos, poderia ser considerado uma banda de heavy metal, mas há uma mistura de estilos durante todo o álbum, o que dificulta definir o estilo da banda.
Em relação aos vocais de Kimberly, essa parte poderia ser melhorada, a vocalização soa um pouco imatura, um pouco de agressividade no vocal ajudaria, em especial nos momentos mais pesados do álbum.
Títulos como "Black Forest", "Scapegoat", possuem bons riffs e são destaques do álbum, como foi dito antes, a banda são de 2 membros, e não há baixista, e senti a falta deste instrumento nas músicas, pois fica um certo vazio em algumas partes.
Esse que vos escreve não está acostumado com o tipo de som, difere da proposta da On the Road Zine, mas é o tipo de cd que precisei de mais de uma audição para entendê-lo, e no final comecei a curtir.
Pude conferir umas performances da banda no youtube, e realmente Kimberly agita, e é uma boa banda ao vivo, que soa até melhor no palco.
Há outros destaques no álbum, como "Hoochie Mama", "Master" e "Hole", recomendo esse álbum a pessoas com a mente mais aberta, mas ouçam com atenção, é bem capaz de te surpreender.

The band One-Eyes Doll from Austin, Texas, has only 2 members, that's right 2, formed by Kimberly Freeman (guitarist/singer) and PJ Evans(drummer/bassist), they play a theatrical kind of rock, several styles from the 70s, 80s and 90s, with some experimentalism.
Kimberly shows good riffs, in some moments they approch heavy metal ones, if it weren't for all this experimentalism, it could be considered as a heavy meatal band, but there's a mixture of styles during the whole album, what makes harder to define their style.
In respect to Kimberly's vocals, this part could be improved, the vocalizations sounds a little immature, some aggressiveness in the vocal would help, especially during the heavy moments.
Titles such as "Black Forest", "Scapegoat", with good riffs are the attraction of the album, as it's been said before, they're a 2 member band, and there's no bassist, I missed this instrument in the songs, beacuse an emptiness can be found ins some parts.
I'm not used to this kind of sound, and it differs from the On the Road Zine purposes, but it's the kind of album that I needed to listen more than once to understand it, and in the end I enjoyed it.
I could check some of their performances on youtube, and Kimberly really rocks, it's a nice band when played live, that sounds even better on stage.
There are others appealing features, like "Hoochie Mama", "Master" and "Hole", I recommend this album for open minded people, but listen carefully, it will probably be able to surprise you.
